I've been sticking with natural brown and black eyeshadows for so long that the two makeup looks below felt dramatic enough for me. They don't hold a candle to those elaborate "Instagram makeup" you see on social media of course, but when I put the shimmery silver-blue in Look 1 and a pink-red shadow on in Look 2, I felt laced with enough drama, honestly!

I was actually inspired to add more hues to my eye makeup looks by my own colourful makeup looks from years ago, believe it or not. I don't have the patience to sit down and pile on like six (seriously though) eyeshadow shades to the lid/contour/under the brow etc. like I did during that time, but applying three shades sound like a good compromise, no?
I used the lovely "Foiled Again" palette by The Balm for both eye makeup looks here. To be fair, I'm still sticking with mostly matte brown shadows in the bottom row but, hey, baby steps, right? I'm definitely looking forward to playing around with the other shimmery shades in this palette.
Do you prefer Look 1 or Look 2?
Look number 1 screams edgy. Look 2 feels barbie chic. I love both as you know how we feel differently each day and makeup can be a reflection of that. I hope to see more of your makeup posts, girl. I know you're going to make them so fun!
ReplyDeleteI used to love doing makeup posts and I do feel like getting into it again! Hoping to take better photos with my camera instead of my iPhone though. But I'm glad you enjoy going through this post. Thank you Shanaz <3
