Presenting my favourite beaded lace baju kurung in yet another post here on The Good Weekender! Third time really is the charm, because this is probably my favourite styling of the modern-traditional outfit out of all three times, but please, feel free to choose your favourite between Styling 1, Styling 2, and this one!
You might remember me explaining how Malay weddings in Malaysia have "colour themes" for the two families involved? How it was mint green for my family at my cousin's solemnization in Pekanbaru, Indonesia (the bride's hometown), and nude/beige/cream for the wedding the day after?
And perhaps if you've read the Styling 1 post (click on the above link if you haven't!), you've learned that it is common for the bride and the groom to have separate weddings?
Well, these photos were taken after my cousin's wedding — the groom's side — right in Kuala Lumpur, the heart of Malaysia. And I'm hoping you would be able to guess what the colour theme was this time just by looking at my photos here but just in case, it's the colour that is combined from the calmness of blue and the ferocity of the colour red: purple.

I just had to break out my darling lilac-pink beaded bag again to go with all the purple and the magenta beadings on my baju kurung, then completing the look with a silvery grey scarf as my hijab to highlight the floral threads in the lace.
Not quite sure how else I could style this baju kurung again in the future, but, hey, every single time I put on this purple delight will be an absolute charm anyway, I'm sure!

Away From Blue
Thank you so much for the kind compliment, Mica, I'm glad you like this outfit <3
DeleteI also like this styling best. Is the true lavender and color bright?? The color looks very subtle in your lead photo...
ReplyDeleteIt's a beauty and so are you Liyana! Love, Jude
Thank you so much, Judy! <3
DeleteThe lining under the lace was a shiny satin so it changes colour in different lighting; I was facing the low sun in most of these photos. I'd say the most accurate colour would be shown by the close-up photos!
