Attic Cat Godabang Cat Cafe in Myeongdong, Seoul

Attic Cat Godabang Cat Cafe in Myeongdong Seoul
It didn't occur to Shah and I to check out an animal-themed cafe in Seoul until we were exhausted from doing all the touristy walking and had about 45 minutes left before the breaking of fast (we were in Seoul during the first week of Ramadhan). If it were during any other month we would have just picked a nice normal cafe and have a drink and snack while we let the tiredness leave our body, but since that wasn't an option...

Anyway, there we were standing in the middle of the shopping road in Myeongdong, when seemingly out of nowhere, a person in a huge cat costume came dancing out, beckoning people towards a narrowerbut still packed with shoppers!shopping alley while pointing to a cat cafe poster. RESULT! I had loved visiting cat cafes in Tokyo so I was excited to see some super cute K-cats!

I didn't realise it back then but apparently there were at least two cat cafes in that area: one on our right and one on our left side, with the one we didn't go to being the bigger one. As luck would have it though, we definitely were directed to the right one in my opinion because I spent most of my time in this particular cat cafe utterly blissfully as one of the cats decided to nap on my lap. For 45 minutes.

I mean, I was, basically, The Chosen One.
What more do you want from a trip to a cat cafe, amiright?

My favourite cat (aside from the one who made me her chosen one) is the grumpy face one; I've always had an affinity for cats with the cutest grumpy faces ever since I watched Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging! If I ever get a cat, it'll have to be an Angus, for sure: always grumpy (or appearing to be) and always up for a good dressing-up session!

Aside from the bliss of having Ping the almost-hairless cat snuggling up to me (that's her in the pink sleeveless top in picture number 5!), Shah and I had fun watching the cats play around, petting them, and taking photos / videos of them (and had a LOT of our affection gone ignored because, well, they're cats) while we let the minutes pass by, and had hot cocoa for fast-breaking before we had our dinnerwhich consisted of trying out every halal street food along the streets of Myeongdong (which was surprisingly aplenty!).

There are actually cat cafes in Malaysia but for some reason we just never made time to visit any of them, but perhaps one day soon?
In the meantime, check out Shah's and my experience at a bunny cafe in Tokyo here.

PS: Some pics were taken using iPhone 7+.

    1. Such a unique and charming post Ariyana! I think my favorite cat is the one that looks like a leopard. The one that slept on you for so long must have liked your warm personality!(pun intended :-) The decor of this cafe is fun too. It's so cool that you and Shah are having all of these experiences all over the world. Love, Jude

      1. Oooh the leopard ones are always the most beautiful.

I wonder why the cat "chose" me...perhaps it was her nap time and I was conveniently there, who knows!

Shah and I do feel very lucky and blessed to have had all these experiences, and especially thankful for his job's opportunities, because otherwise we really wouldn't have been able to travel overseas this much! <3
