I have this love-dislike relationship with my eyebrows; I suppose it's easier to say I have good days and bad days with them. Doesn't everybody, though...? But seriously, 'Good Brow Days' have now come around more often because of these Benefit products, so two thumbs up! (Or two brows going up and down in quick succession as a sign of approval!)
I've always wanted to try out a brow product that comes in a pot—especially Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade but sadly it isn't physically available here—so Benefit Ka-Brow! Eyebrow Cream-Gel Color (sure is a mouthful) seemed like a natural selection, especially since Benefit is known for their 'brow bar'. I ran out of my No7 clear brow gel months ago so I decided to pick up Gimme Brow Volumizing Eyebrow Gel as well.
Ka-Brow! Eyebrow Cream-Gel Color, shade 4
The cream-gel in the little pot is perfect for those who like going to town with the strong, bold brows trend. However, go easy on it with a light hand and you could achieve a softer, more natural effect, too.
Ever since I saw a video of a makeup artist drawing individual brow hairs with a pomade and a thin brush, I've been wanting to try out that technique but unfortunately I haven't met a brush sturdy and thin enough to do the job (recommendation, guys?). I imagine Benefit Ka-Brow! Eyebrow Cream-Gel Color is a good enough product to achieve that particular result as it's super pigmented, but the best part about the cream-gel in this little pot is it stays on for a wholeee day.
The pot has an attached little brush that looks well-made but I never used it, as I feel like it'd be a nightmare to clean on the tiny space of where the brush is kept. (<--- As a mild germaphobe, this is more my problem than the packaging's, I must admit.) This is one product I would definitely recommend anyone buying! I'm using shade number 4 but I'm thinking about going one or two shades lighter for my next pot.
Gimme Brow Volumizing Eyebrow Gel, shade 3
I'm not as big of a fan of Gimme Brow Volumizing Eyebrow Gel; as much as I comb through my brow hairs with it and coax them to go in the direction I want them to (usually upwards), they go lifeless and messy again after a short while, unlike the colourless No7 brow gel (PS: No7 is not available in Malaysia, sadly, too). Other than it's less-than-impressive staying power, it does a great job at darkening and defining my brow hairs, which is a huge plus! If I ever purchase this again, I might go a shade darker.
I don't consider Gimme Brow a must-have but if you're really into dyeing individual brow hairs and nothing more, you might like it.
One thing's for sure: the packaging for this Benefit range is SO sweet—adorable and kitschy, which are right up my alley! Even though one's a hit and the other's a miss, I still look forward to trying out the other Benefit brow products.
Have you guys tried either one of them?
You have knockout brows Liyana. Keep doing anything that tickles your fancy because it's lookin seriously fierce.
