Having spent an autumn, a winter, a spring, a summer, and another autumn here in Tokyo, I've now decided that my most favourite season is autumn. Well, early-to-mid autumn, that is, because once I feel the temperature dipping, I go a bit frazzled and that takes time getting used to. But forgetting the getting-way-cold weather, I absolutely adore the warm colours of autumn: the dark greens, the reds and the yellows of them all. Plus, I love warm red and berry-based lipsticks, so I just know I'm an autumn girl at heart. (Note: I don't know about you but this last point is the most important and most telling of all.)
Shah and I have visited the best parks in Tokyo city in our previous trips — Shinjuku Gyoen is my most favourite, and Shah's is Ueno Park — so this time around, we decided to give Showa Kinen Park a go since it was highly recommended by someone he knows. It takes about 40 minutes of train ride to reach the park, which is located in Tachikawa, plus you have to pay an entrance fee for it, but it was totally worth it. This park is absolutely gorgeous, and it is HUGE. We only got to visit a tiny part of it, though, as we went there a bit late and only had about an hour until closing time.
I really, really love this turtleneck split-side long sweater but the thick cowl-turtleneck made it almost impossible to wear in Malaysia — it'd be much too hot! — so I've been looking for a similar piece ever since that Tokyo trip; something that's thinner and have a more reasonable neckline so that I can wear it even at home (when I'm heading out to somewhere air-conditioned, of course), and this sweater dress definitely fits the bill.
I don't know if I'll ever be back for another autumn in Tokyo, so I'm just soaking it all in for now. I'm definitely going to miss autumns in Tokyo too much...
