It was like me embracing the spirit of Beetlejuice, sartorially...
Following the appearance of my Beetlejuice tee and my sudden, surprising newfound love of black and white in Tokyo was this black and white wraparound top that I bought just before coming to Tokyo.
I was perusing through Cotton On's sales racks in 1st Avenue Penang when I saw a bunch of wraparound tops, in limited sizes, for RM 15 each. RM 15 for a top? I'd regret not grabbing at least one for the rest of my life, I should think, so I grabbed two—naturally—this striped piece and a polka dot one. Only the sweet polka dot one was a little too snug for me around the hips as it turned out (don't worry, it found a new loving home that is my sister) but I'm so glad this striped one fits me nicely.
I paired the top with the only pair of blue jeans I brought on my Tokyo trip for one of the best yakiniku dinner experiences in Shibuya (post on that place coming up in the future). Horizontal stripes at the front but with vertical ones at the back, I still felt a little bit like I was paying homage to Betelgeuse himself...
