This idea of lip stain involves a pigmented lipstick, a lip brush, a couple of tissues and a few cotton buds.
Lately i've been into lipstick that's barely there, and i call it "homemade" lip stain. This is an example of how it looks like:
It's a whole lot tedious process than just putting lipstick on, definitely. It's the same concept as the "no-makeup makeup" look; it involves a whole lot more energy than normal full-face makeup.
I like pairing this with smokey eyes for a simple look.
How to get the whole look:
1. Apply foundation, concealer (under the eyes and wherever needed) and powder first.
Used: Rimmel Match Perfect foundation in 402 Bronze on top of Inglot Under Makeup Base, MAC Studio Finish concealer in NW35, Rimmel Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed Powder in Silky Beige
2. Prep eyebrows by brushing them upwards, filling them in with a dark eyeshadow and applying clear brow gel to keep them in place.
Used: Revlon Matte Eye Shadow in Rich Sable, No7 Lash & Brow Perfector
3. Pat a dark grey, dark brown or black eyeshadow on the lids. I keep the colour well below the crease, so that when my eyes are opened, the colour will only be seen on the visible part of my lids.
Used: Pistol eyeshadow from Urban Decay Naked 2 palette
4. With my pinkie, i blend the edges of the shadow.
5. Mascara timeee.
Used: Maybelline The Rocket Waterproof mascara
6. Contour the hollow of cheeks.
Used: Sleek Face Contour Kit in Medium
Blend well, unless you're into the super sharp cheekbones look.
7. Apply lipstick. Using a lip brush always helps!
Used: Revlon Super Lustrous Fire & Ice
8. I like to use a cotton bud to to really spread the colour around. It does take the colour away from the lips, but this method helps me get the colour right into the creases of my lips.
9. Blot with tissue, very gently.
10. Now this is the tedious part. To get a long-lasting stain, i would repeat steps 7, 8 and 9 a few more times. The more times i do it, the better the staining effect is. Plus the colour would be more intense and the stain would be more stubborn.
And now i'm done!
